About Me
Hello Stranger,
My name is Hayden Wendt (as you can already read on my profile).
I’m originally from the United States and I left on the 12th of February for good to explore the world, and attempt to make a real impact upon what’s going on.
It’s one thing to see what’s going on in the world, and feel so helpless. It’s another to see what’s going on and attempt to change it, so it can be better for the masses at large.
I’m currently in Asia for 2 months, and I’ll be traveling around to take a break from Ukraine.
Life Goals:
Travel The Middle East (Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen etc…), the whole of Africa, and South America.
The whole idea is to film and document how life is really like in these places, and the struggles/ hardships of the locals.
After I travel the world and document what’s going on, I will hopefully go into politics within the United States and attempt to make some real change to make our future safer, better, and kinder than it is today.
My language goals:
I hope to be fluent in Arabic, Ukrainian, Russian, Mandarin Chinese, and French in addition to what I already know decently well (English and Spanish)
Family Goals:
3-5 children, and to raise them to respect women + their fellow human. I’d like to raise people who are secure, and act out of peace compared to ego. I’d like to make sure my children are fluent in a number of languages that I’d speak by the time I have children (if god, Allah, whatever deity if there even is one) allows me to do so.
Connection:
I have an inherent belief that all humans fundamentally are kind and good. To me I want to ask you, and people in general the deeper questions in life. What’s something that truly makes you happy? What was the first time you felt loved by someone that wasn’t a parent/ family member?
What do you wanna be remembered for? Who do you want to become, and what steps do you need to do to be that person?
Anyways… enough about me, I want to know about you!
Look forward to chatting with you, in whatever part of the world we’re in.
Hayden
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To connect with locals, hear real stories, and get a better understanding of the places I visit. Hotels are isolating — I prefer the human side of travel. I’d like funny/ interesting stories to tell my kids one day :3

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In Ukraine I helped evacuations on the front lines for over a month. Within that time I saw heartbreaking things that have deeply affected me, within the same light I’ve seen unbelievable acts of kindness during those evacuations.
I filmed a majority of this, and much of it can be found on YouTube (once I post everything)
Ukraine changed me quite a lot, as it stripped the modern day persona of being stressed about superficial things.
Seeing so much destruction and horror, and being almost killed several times makes me appreciate the smaller things in life a lot more.
Teach, Learn, Share
1) I can share about my travel experiences, or teach/ do a yoga class for you (I have a yoga teacher certification that I got in Rishikesh India)
2) I can attempt to get to know the real you. Not the person you tell your friends, family and social media… but the person behind the mask and whatever we hope ourselves to be. To me this is done through asking the right questions (like I’ve expressed above)
3) perhaps I can show you my YouTube channels? Depends on what you’d like :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Deep conversations, travel stories, a video or photo if you’d like something filmed, teaching yoga (I have a certification from when I was in India), cooking , or just being respectful and low-maintenance. I can also offer a unique look at your city through the lens of a documentary.
