Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Tomás, but my friends call me Ted. I’m a 25-year-old from Argentina, recently graduated as a Lawyer and with a B.A. in Political Science. After years of studying and working, I’ve decided to take a break to explore the world, meet new people, and live the stories I’ve always dreamed of.
I’m easygoing, curious, and always up for a good conversation. Whether it’s going on a trek, grabbing a beer, or sharing stories late into the night, I love learning from other people’s experiences and ways of life.
I’m fluent in Spanish and English, and I speak some French and Italian. Languages fascinate me — I’m always eager to practice and learn more.
I also love sharing a bit of Argentine culture wherever I go, especially our “mate” rituals and homemade empanadas ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe that travel is about more than visiting museums or taking photos — what excites me most is immersing myself in different cultures, having genuine exchanges, and creating meaningful memories with new friends.
Thanks to the environmental NGO I work with, I’ve had the chance to travel all around Argentina, often staying at volunteers’ homes. That experience taught me something invaluable: there’s a special kind of magic in couchsurfing, a connection born out of generosity and openness that no five-star hotel could ever match.
I’d love to learn about your daily life, history, traditions, and worldview. I’m also happy to lend a hand, cook a meal, or contribute however I can to your home and family :)

Music, Movies, and Books
• Music:
I like a bit of everything — from Argentine rock and folk to indie, jazz, and even some classical. But my favorite song is definitely Patience by Guns N' Roses. I’m always happy to share music and discover new artists.
• Movies:
I’m a big fan of movies that make you think or feel something deeply — like Midnight in Paris — but I also enjoy a good laugh with lighter comedies, like Relatos Salvajes.
• Books:
I read a lot, especially philosophy, literature, and books on society and history. My top three would be The October Country by Ray Bradbury, Final del Juego by Julio Cortázar, and Consolations by Seneca — three very different books, but each one taught me something important.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For over a year, I’ve been visiting a children’s home every month to celebrate the kids’ birthdays — bringing cakes, presents, piñatas, and spending time playing together. The laughter, resilience, and warmth of those children, aged 2 to 12, taught me more than any book or class ever could.
I’ve also worked for several years as a tour guide in Buenos Aires, sharing my city with travelers from around the world. Not only did I deepen my understanding of my own culture, but I also learned so much from the people I met — their stories, backgrounds, and ways of seeing the world.
Teach, Learn, Share
• Teach:
I can teach Spanish, share Argentine rituals (let’s drink some mate or make an asado!), talk about Latin American history or politics, and offer some legal or philosophical insights — if you're into that kind of thing.
• Learn:
I want to learn your stories, your language (even just a few phrases!), and your perspective on life. I’m happy to join you in any activity or “adventure” you feel like doing, and I’d love to meet your family and friends if the opportunity arises.
• Share:
I’ll share good conversation, respect for your space, a helping hand, and a sense of humor. I’ll make sure that having me over brings you joy — not a burden. I’m also happy to bring or cook something from Argentina if we plan in advance 😉
