About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Cycle all the way around the Irish coast
ABOUT ME
Grew up in a small town an hour and a half from Dublin, was born and raised in our family pub and am the youngest of my family. I'm living in Dublin for the last two years, had been living abroad and also did a bit of traveling for a good while before moving home. Loving work at the moment, it's a hobby too. It's technical and interesting but I get paid to go to gigs and listen, you can't get better than that. Meeting loads of weird and wonderful people through it too.
PHILOSOPHY
I've just gotten through some serious illness which made me take stock and make some decissions to live life on my own terms. A wake up call, stop trundling through life.Do the things that matter to you now.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've only just joined the site but my experience of staying in strangers houses for a night or two here and there on my travels has been amazing. If someone invites you to stay in their home your never sure what kind of reception you might get, but I've had nothing only good ones. While I traveled in India they used to say the reason they give strangers such a warm welcome is because every stranger is 'an angel sent'. It's a nice thought.
Interests
Food has to be a big one, can't get enough of nice food.Sometimes its nice to just sit around having the craic and a few beers. Sometimes it's not. Used to do some indoor climbing but haven't got the chance lately. It's a good buzz. Music is massive to me, playing and listening, just can't get enough of good music. Travel: those itchy feet never stop.
Music, Movies, and Books
Was never a huge movie buff but I still love a good film every now and again. One film that always sticks in my head is "The man who would be king" Classic with Sean Connery and Micheal Cain. Book's: I'd only read a couple of books a year and always have something good lined up for the next one. Shantaram is probably the best book I've ever read . I like photography and philosophy books too.
Music: everything from straight rock to funky electronic, trad, folky, jazz and right back to any music from around the world. I'd listen to anything apart from mass produced crap just made to sell records for the sake of it. I play the drums just for fun....love it!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent 6 months traveling across northern India by motor bike HAVING MY EYES OPENED meeting the most amazing people seeing things and places and having some of the best experiences of my life. It's another world over there, its the frenzy that is India.
Teach, Learn, Share
What ya got? I'll teach you how to make a mean (dam good) sandwich. Or if your not hungry, something else. If your into photography bring your camera and we could do a photo trip. I could give you a drum lesson too.
