About Me

It's a go-go, not a cry-cry

I'm originally from Mississippi but Los Angeles is more home than anywhere - moved to LA originally through skateboarding sponsors. My Dad's German and my Mom's a born and raised Southern gal - yet I don't have too much of a southern accent, wear overalls, or ride horses very good. In fact I'd like to think I'm at least a little bit fashionable. I like to skateboard, paint, write, make music, read good books, and eat things that are delicious.

I'm a bit of a nomad and have done a fair amount of roaming about in my day. When I travel I have this vice of visiting too many bakeries, drinking too much coffee in the morning, and often too much beer in the evening. I'd say I'm pretty outgoing but can also be pleasantly awkward. I've lived in Atlanta, Phoenix, Los Angeles, NYC, and San Diego within the States and also abroad for short periods in Poland, Serbia, and Australia.

Throughout my rambling around I've held a slew of random jobs to keep me afloat such as working in coffee shops, being a flight attendant, skateboarding, and teaching English but lately it's been in design. I try to live life in a way that'll give me stories to tell.

Here's some of my music: http://mickeymickeyrourke.bandcamp.com/

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime."
- mark twain

"And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."-- Abraham Lincoln

It's called a cupcake because it's a "cup" of cake.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I let people crash at my place and crash at fellow surfer's who are generous enough to host me. I'm also down to just meet up with people and show them around wherever I'm living.

Quite a few - all grand.

skateboarding. traveling. road trips. muffins with raisins -unless I thought they were going to be chocolate chips. fun stuff. music. tetris. meeting new people. making funny faces and bad jokes. overly criticizing and analysing things that don't matter. movies. seeing new places. floating in pools. Parties. random tattoos. Bubblegum. Photography. spontaneity. Art. Pleasantly awkward moments.
