CURRENT MISSION

My mission, as it relates to couch-surfing, is to always strive to show or remind people that the world is a good place with good people whom you can trust and be open with. The very fact that this couch surfing site exists proves the point.

ABOUT ME

Briefly, I am a good-natured, happy type who loves people, loves travel and loves life. I am a mother of 3 wonderful human beings and continue to be surprized and in awe of them. I live in a good city whose negative attributes only inspire me to travel often. (it gets bitterly cold in the winter)

PHILOSOPHY

It seems to me that this way (couch surfing or other) of sharing our space with each other, with others in need, and reciprocating in kind, is what "normal" really is for human beings. Yet, the mainstream experience misses out on these healthy, natural connections. Living isolated and unnecessarily careful becomes the norm and folks miss out on the beautiful richness available by living with this natural openness to other humans.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Our house is large but so rarely empty. In the last few years we have had it too full to take in couch surfers but that state fluctuates so it doesn't hurt to ask. I am looking forward to some flow of travellers through our home when we have room.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first couch surfing experience recently and it was great! I was in Minneapolis for a course and was taken in by a lovely couple.Hooray for couchsurfing!

Algo increíble que he hecho

I hiked the Kalalau trail on Kuai in 2011. Amazing! I found out while on it that it is rated as one of the top ten most dangerous hikes in the USA. I could see why. Because of it's remoteness and challenging path, the beauty was pristine and raw and stunning. Few places on the earth still like that I bet.
