ABOUT ME

We are a couple of retired teachers in our 60s who've travelled a fair bit. We're keen to share our city and our home with like-minded travellers of any age. Our politics are left of centre and we like art, theatre, travelling, good food and wine.
We're happy to host visitors to London who are prepared to be independent and respect our privacy, safety and security. Although we're retired, both of us do some work from home so we ask surfers to be out of the house during the day. Our busy daytimes mean late nights and noisy guests would be problematic.
As we spend quite a lot of time at our house in Suffolk, our availability to host is irregular but you can always ask.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted many people. It's really important for us that we feel we have something in common with the people who stay with us; we're not offering a crash pad or cheap alternative to a hostel. If you would like to surf with us, please include the word Nellie in your request. We do not respond to requests that do not include this codeword. Two or three nights is the right time to stay; we're unlikely to invite you for longer until we know you.
