CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME
Things/People/Personalities I enjoy most:
-Day dreamers
-Story tellers
-Meals made to perfection
-Running barefoot through wet grass on a hot day
-Friendly cats and dogs
-Explosive and/or beautiful music (Tangerine Dream, Beethoven, Biosphere, ect.)
-Prank calls
-Social experiments
-The transcendence of unyielding morality and rigid, superficial social constructions (Good, Evil, Left, Right, ect.)
Things/People/Personalities I don't gel well with:
-The easily offended
-Trend-watchers/participants
-A blind approach to any perspective or value
-Rampant consumerism
-Wastefulness
-The opposite of everything on the first list
So anyone who doesn't recognize life as being inherently situational, can't laugh at anything and everything (including themselves), and isn't able to enjoy the simple things in life probably won't hit it off with me and my roommates. Luckily these types of people are few and far between when it comes to free-lance travel, so I'm not too worried.
PHILOSOPHY
I have a strong belief in the destruction of self-serving/parasitic delusion, but I'm also very interested in a revolution of thought and dream. The dividing point between the two concepts usually brings about the type of discourse that helps to not only make life worth living, but to also ultimately make it better.
I also believe in supporting the recognition of natural differences between people and populations, and pushing to abolish the forced homogenization (i.e. destruction) of them. A worthwhile understanding of different value sets, however, is essential for this to work. That is a fundamental reason I applaud networks like this, especially since they work to undermine the dubious commercial benefits of globalization.
I think these two broad viewpoints work well to establish the kind of connection between people that brings out the best in them. So I guess that’s my personal philosophy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Anyone and everyone is welcome to stop by on their way to...well, wherever they're headed. I've hosted people in the past - although not through this site - and it has been a blast.
Along those same lines, cool people stopping by my community and sharing their ideas can only make things better from my standpoint, and enabling this to happen obviously helps out the couch surfing project: everyone wins.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I currently live above pub/restaurant and across the street from another, so people of all sorts are usually in the neighborhood. So far we've had the pleasure of hosting people from around the Twin Cities, surrounding states, and as far away as Missouri.
Every experience has been beneficial for everyone involved, so I figured offering couch and floor space through a medium like this makes sense.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Oddly enough, biking over 20 miles each day in the summer as a teenager to spend the majority of each day at a friend's house that was about the size of my parents' bedroom. There are individual stories, but the underlying concept of this is a lot bigger, and it'd be nice to propagate through this network.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've been formally trained in Biology and English. But travel stories and experiences alone are enough to satisfy any learning expectations.
