CURRENT MISSION

I have innate wanderlust. Since I am currently grounded due to young children, I will fulfill this need by hosting those who are traveling. When the children are a little older, I plan to visit many, many countries and a few unvisited places in the U.S.

ABOUT ME

I am a 42 year young mother of four. Kevin is 40. Each of our children is five years apart, so we have a six month old boy, a five year old girl, a ten year old boy, and a 15 year old girl.

As you can imagine, I am pretty busy. However, we have a huge social network and I have many people who offer to have my children so that we can do things outside of the home and on our own.

We love Lawrence, KS and would love more opportunities to share it with visitors.

We love travel of all sorts. We love visiting foreign countries, U.S. cities and towns and love road trips. We love beaches and mountains. My father's family is from Albania, so that is a priority for future trips. I would love to visit Ireland, the home of my Mother's side. I have a special thing for italy and feel at home in France.

It is my goal to visit as much of the world as I can.

PHILOSOPHY

I can only speak for myself, so the others will have to add theirs at a later time.

I believe that life needs to be lived outside of the confines of the mind, but without being steered too far in any direction by emotions. We need balance.

I am a joyous person, who is working on not complaining or judging too much. It's a cliche, but life IS too short and we should squander none of it on pettiness.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are new to this community, but are very much interested in becoming active and we plan to participate as much as we can. For now, we hope to host, but as the children grow, we plan to surf. I only hope that there are brave souls out there willing to accept our large brood.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Our friends hosted a young family and invited us to participate in their experience. We loved it and immediately went home and created a profile.

Interests

I love to play sports to stay active. I specifically like to play soccer and futsal, although I am still relatively new to the sport.

I love to dance. We love going to plays, eating out, dining on ethnic cuisine, reading, doing puzzles. My daughters and I love musicals. We all love old movies. We volunteer and have a passion for children in need, as well as animals.

As a family, we love to travel, play soccer, engage in outdoor activities, and look up at the stars. Kevin and the children are especially enamored with astronomy.

MOVIES: All of the old Andy Hardy movies, All of the old movies with song and dance. All from The Thin Man series. I like almost every old movie. Doris Day/Rock Hudson ones, Rita Hayworth ones, Betty Davis ones, Fred Astaire ones, The Incredibles, Forrest Gump, the original Odd Couple. All of the musicals. I just can't think of them all. I LOVE movies.

MUSIC: I love music. I like all music except for Heavy Metal types and I don't really care for Punk Rock, either.
