Couch Concerts (House Concerts CouchSurfing Style!)

We are from Portland, Oregon on part-two of a House Concert Tour of the U.S., featuring singer/songwriter Jonathan Brinkley. Can you imagine inviting your friends over for a potluck and an evening of musical nourishment? This can be in a living room, porch, patio or backyard, anywhere people can intimately gather, free of distraction and full of intention. It is a wonderfully fun and inspiring way to hear music!

We present singer/songwriter, Jonathan Brinkley from Portland, OR. Jonathan sings powerful, heart-provoking tunes that aim at making our world more honest, more connected. His music is contagiously optimistic.

Anna Moss & Joel Ludford - singer songwriter - from USA

"Experiencing Handmade Moment show is kind of like enjoying a spoonful of political discourse wrapped in local organic bacon and deep fried in hemp oil - and it's all silky" - Nick Brothers -Free Weekly.

Born from the ashes of the rock band Don’t Stop Please, in 2014 the quirky, jazzy crew released a self titled debut Handmade Moments. A series of tours followed, and the prolific pair won hearts beyond the Ozarks, with that came 2015’s critically acclaimed Eye in the Sky. The hip-hop folk-roots group was gigging their way from Coast to Coast, and soon went international, venturing to South America, where they planted firm roots in Argentina. Their story seemed to be going along swimmingly, until one day, it wasn’t. Their home, vehicle, instruments, just about everything Moss and Ludford had worked so hard for- was destroyed, in merely an instant. But apparent from the moment Moss returned home from the hospital and began writing a song, the calamity had not extinguished their spirits. The ultimate reality check had arrived in death-defying fashion, and they’d live to sing the tale.

Ludford and Moss retreated into the nurturing bosom of Nevada City, CA area to recover, and begin the healing process the only way they knew how, through music. Over the next three months, these meditations and ruminations fueled the writing, recording, and realization of Paw Paw Tree, their third full length LP and Jumpsuit Records debut. That reclamation comes on May 21, 2018, as Moss and Ludford return weathered, stronger, and wiser for the time; two years to the day from the accident, emerging a bolstered and emboldened Handmade Moments. The diverse collection of songs is riveting from start to finish, an amalgam of their rock and jazz past, juxtaposed with Southern roots and folk DNA, scrambled together and evolved into the current continuum that reveals Paw Paw Tree.

Ornate instrumentation details the bedrock of their simple yet sophisticated songcraft, and endearing, intoxicating personality. Handmade Moments’ piercing lyricism and carousing croon both tell their own inspirational tale, and encompass larger themes that resonate within us all. This musical document unveils a myriad of tones, from walking upright bass to silky saxophone; it embodies an intelligent, progressive culture and celebrates a simple way of life. “Fighting a Mountain” imagines a friend stranded in raging waters, but you are unable to help, restrained by physical barriers. The title track envisions a post-apocalyptic world with desert farms, a pointed statement against input-reliant agriculture and rallying cry to restore the ecosystem. “Junkie” is not your typical lover’s lament, and uses muse and real life metaphor to emphasize emotions that know no bounds, until they are no more. Paw Paw Tree is filled with lyrical life lessons, statements on the state the union, and examinations of those fragile, human elements that define each and every one of us.

For all concerts we open our door at 7pm, the actual concert not starting before 8pm. Please bring your own drinks. We'll only have water and a few beers otherwise. A fair and generous donation is appreciated to cover traveling musician's expenses.

Our place is in 15 minutes walking distance to the central Duisburg train station, not far from the "Innenhafen". The next subway station is "Duissern". Make sure you are on the attendee list a day before the event. You will receive a private message with the address and the directions then.

I just started with my Jazz-Duo "Gramm Art Project" (www.grammartproject.com) our new programme, where we create live jazzy, avantgarde film-music for the classical silentmovie "The Adventures Of Prince Achmed" (1926, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Adventures_of_Prince_Achmed) and we are looking for places to play (and stay :)) in Europe. Conrad Vingoe & Indigorado

Conrad Vingoe is an award winning folk and Americana influenced singer/songwriter based in London (UK). His latest album “Tomorrow, then” was recorded by legendary producer/engineer Phill Brown (John Martyn, Talk Talk, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley etc) and was released in 2015. Conrad has toured in England, Europe and the U.S. and most recently in Scandinavia. He has supported the likes of Turin Brakes, Passenger, Chris Difford (Squeeze) and Kathryn Williams. Recent festival dates include Beautiful Days where he played the same stage as Seth Lakeman and Iain Anderson (Jethro Tull).

Live performances are in parts intimate, in others intense and raucous. Whether performing solo or with a band Conrad’s accomplished, fluid guitar playing and passionate vocals are always a memorable experience.

Indigorado is a Norwegian-Swedish duo performing soulful songs with inspiration from indiefolk, singer/songwriter and world. Their music has been described as positive melancholy and has been compared to artists like Laura Marling, Eva Cassidy and Radiohead. Since the beginning in 2012 they have toured in 12 different countries and are known for being an interesting live-act displaying presence and nerve, inviting the audience to their own inner journey.

The single "The Old Man" was released in April and the music video is nominated to Cayman International Film Festival and Prague Independent Film Festival this summer.
