Aste Nagusia, or 'Great Week,' is Bilbao's premier nine-day festival featuring over 500 free activities including concerts, traditional Basque rural sports, and nightly international fireworks competitions. The celebration begins with the 'txupinazo' rocket launch and the appearance of the mascot Marijaia, transforming the city into a vibrant hub of Basque culture, street theater, and gastronomy.
