Thanks a lot for the effort. I can only imagine how hard would it be. But maybe we can do something smaller like a hang out and grill? Nothing that could be spoiled by people not joining.

Dear couchsurfers,

Sadly I have to announce that I will cancel the CS Summer Camp event 2026. Last year, I experienced how hard it is to make people join such an event last-minute, so we started arranging things earlier this year. But unfortunately, there are not enough early bird reservations as of now for me to continue organizing the event. I am really lacking the time and motivation to do consumer-grade marketing, and the new changes on the Couchsurfing platform can also not guarantee me the visibility for that event. I cannot take that financial risk and communication effort any more for a non-commercial event (Couchsurfing rules…), last year I was writing with over 300 couchsurfers personally just to fill up the event.

I hope you understand and of course, I am organizing a full refund through Stripe for the 5 persons who have already registered to the event.

Thanks for everyone who has already supported in the organization, specially Yannick, Paddy, Vasilis. I think it’s just the event format and the price that is not really working any more with couchsurfing, I feel the platform and also our society is shifting more towards spontaneous activities.
