Hello wonderful surfers and all good people! Try to imagine this beautiful, green and modern capital city 72 years ago, August the 1st 1944, 5:00 pm. Polish resistance Home Army (Armia Krajowa) starts the major World War II operation to liberate Warsaw from Nazi Germany. The Uprising is timed to coincide with the Soviet Union's Red Army approaching the eastern suburbs of the city and the retreat of German forces. Thousands of young people are ready to give their life for freedom. Almost one million people struggles to survive. Soldiers try to infiltrate the enemy forces crawling through the sewage channels. The city will never be the same again, will they prevail against the enemy or not. Besides the atrocities of war and hopeless fight of citizens against the regular army, we will discover everyday life during the 63 days of Warsaw Uprising. Couples get married, poets write their poems, children sing. This tour explores the most significant Warsaw Uprising venues around the city center (Śródmieście) and the Old Town (Stare Miasto), where every street and every single building has its own story to tell. It is a perfect chance to get acquainted to one of the most important events that has influenced the city itself and its inhabitants ever after.
