ABOUT ME

I am currently living in Fort Collins, Colorado and studying chemistry and education. I am laid back, friendly, and adventurous. I really enjoying learning new things and I have a lot of eclectic interests. I also find it hard to describe myself in these boxes, so please ask me a question in you have one.

PHILOSOPHY

Knowledge is power, and power comes with responsibility. I have a responsibility to learn all I can and make this world a better place. Simple as that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Does living in your car count? I have made a habit of surfing all over since I started college. I have traveled across Europe and had the good fortune to surf with some very lovely folks in Belgium and Scotland.

Interests

Traveling, meeting new people, learning languages, learning ANYTHING!, chemistry, rugby, pretending I know how to cook, playing ukelele very badly, slam poetry, cake decorating, gardening, art, swapping adventure stories, swinging on those swings that are too small for me these days, backpacking and hiking, barefooted frisby, finding new music, making really geeky science jokes, creative writing, meditation, learning useless trivia facts, playing Risk until I own the whole world, watching laughing babies on youtube, people watching, laying under the stars....

Music, Movies, and Books

I love almost all types of music. I really enjoy classic literature, poetry, scifi and mystery novels. Kid's books take the cake for me! Dr. Seuss, Franz Kafka, George Orwell, and Shel Silverstien are some of my favorite authors. As far as movies go, I love geeky scifi stuff like District 9, Ironman, and Sin City. Baz Luman rocks my planet and I have watched "Moulon Rouge" and "Romeo + Juliet" like ten times. "Rent" and "Outlaws and Inlaws" both made me cry like a baby.
I am a super scaredy-cat but I LOVE zombie movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I own two tarantulas and I one once picked up a scorpion. I have traveled Europe, have gone mountain climbing, backpacking, snowboarding, and spelunking. I have been to over 10 countries and half of the states in the US. I built a house in Mexico, slept on the courthouse steps in Belgium, and been in a hot air balloon. I was stranded in Spain, mugged in Hanley, and and I got a brain injury snowboarding in Frisco. During my travels I have met people who blew me away with their kindness and intelligence. Oops, I guess that is not one thing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some really geeky science facts, entomology, or just the lyrics to any Sublime song :) I am great at cake decorating.I love to learn languages and to try my hand at cooking! I am pretty good at teaching and I am always willing to share what I know.
