About Me

* * * * * Our apartment is about an hour by bus from TLV center. If your plans for the stay are to hang out in TLV, you should consider staying in TLV, Jaffa, Ramat Gan or Bat Yam * * * * *

As you've probably had guessed, my name is Natalia :-) I was born in Russia (back then it was the Soviet Union), when I was nine years old my family repatriated to Israel. So I'm both Russian and Israeli and have the opportunity to enjoy both cultures. I'm a nurse, previously I've served as an EMT.
I'm newly wed, my husband's name is Igor, and he comes from a similar background as I. Igor is a software engineer in an energy saving start-up, he is a bit of a computer geek, super smart and laid back. Both of us love board games, rock music, black humour, red wines and late night discussions.

We've enjoyed both hosting and surfing, yet CS it's not a part of our routine, but a pleasant exception. We love meeting people from different backgrounds, because it allows me not to dwell in the same opinions, but to learn new things.

I feel obligated to add that we host for the sake of hanging out with our surfers (or helping out those stuck without a place to sleep). Henceforth we don't host when we are busy and we don't accept requests for more than 2/3 nights or requests from those who didn't read our profile.

That said, if you want to stay in central Israel and you're tired of busy Tel Aviv, you're welcome to stay with us in Holon. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

1) Saving money.
2) Meeting awesome different people and finding company.
3) Discovering not your usual_tourist_stuff about the place.

Interests

Mostly we enjoy being lazy, reading some historical fiction or watching tv series and drinking wine.
Sometimes we play board games or go out for a hike/bouldering/diving/random adventure with our friends.
I also participate in live action role play games, recently I became old and grumpy became interested in historical reenactment.
When abroad, I enjoy randomly wandering around the city, looking at the buildings and admiring street art. I don't enjoy loud parties, but I love live music, especially combined with good beer. Cheers!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My alternative service as an E.M.T. It was the most important experience so far.
I would never agree to exchange those two years for anything in the world.
Seeing people born and die, and doing your best to help them gives you a different perspective on life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can tell you funny creepy stuff from my medical experience, show you around, and give some tips about exploring Israel. I also can help you pick a great bottle of Israeli wine :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

If I'm not working, I'll do my best to show you around and to make sure you're getting the "Israeli experience".

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Netherlands, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Israel, Russian Federation
