Hello! My name is Stephanie and I have been on the road since December 2013. For the first 20 months, I lived out of a van, but in August, the van set on fire. I bought a Jeep Cherokee with the insurance money and now my dog and I are living out of that. I am currently in the Northeast area of the country trying to cross off the last few states I haven't explored (now it's down to Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Massachusetts). I have been mostly camping but it's hard to explore cities and also camp, so I have come to Couchsurfing in hopes of meeting fellow open-hearted adventurous souls who might be able to help me out!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I backpacked through 5 countries in Europe SOLO

Covered 40k miles in my van, cross country twice, Solo with my dog

6 hour underground caving tour

It was incredible- after we army crawled through this one stretch, the caver said "ok, now I want everyone to turn off their head lamps and sit here quietly, and we are going to experience total silence and total darkness"
And I really can't explain what was so amazing about that except you could feel the stillness of everyones energy and the buzzing of the life in the cave…

I am also a certified SCUBA diver

I have gone sky diving but still want to bungee jump
