CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to be extraordinary. I want to live a year dedicated to all the things I wish I did or said I would accomplish, but haven't due to a lack of conviction. Everybody is capable of doing something extraordinary, all we need is proper motivation.

ABOUT ME

For starters, my name is Scott MacKinnon and I'm from Ontario, Canada. Four years ago I made the decision to pack up and move to Hawaii and it was my best decision to date. The people I met and the things I experienced have had a lasting influence on me. Since my move from the islands in March, I have backpacked in Panama and re-developed ties with friends and family back in my hometown of Belleville. I am currently getting ready to start a voyage around the world for one year, where hopefully I can continue my journey of self discovery. I am laid back, goal orientated and always ready to try something new. I love meeting people, learning and gaining new perspectives and generally having as much fun as possible wherever I go. I hope to one day settle in, but for now i'm in the search for what's around the next corner.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in simplicity. I believe that life is made up of rights and wrongs and a conscious that helps us guide our way. I believe that leading a full life revolves around developing the strength and conviction to follow your conscious, even in the face of adversity. I believe the measure of our character is a true indicator of our evolvment as people. I believe that a real man (or woman ) should not be judged by the mistakes s/he makes, but by how s/he applies the lessons s/he learns from them. I believe in free choice and the unlimited resource of power we as people can yield from using it to our fullest potential.

I have yet to offer my services as a host, but as soon as I complete my journey, my policy is open arms to the world and all its travelers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had more than a few stints as a host and crasher over the years, but nothing officially through this website. I hope to gain enough stories through the help of this website to fill pages with my experiences as both a host and surfer.
