Most of my life, I have been part of communities and grassroots campaigns for social justice and environmental conservation and sustainability, and supporting indigenous land and water rights . However, in this very moment, I think defeating Donald Trump is the current most effective way of heading off this global turn to fascism! So I am using some time off to help campaign to do just that. Would love to meet some people around US I have stuff in common with and get to know the local art, queer, activism scenes in between volunteering!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Heading to Atlanta, PA, Detroit to support and help carry Democratic activists by lugging yard signs and voter registration forms as folks door knock to bring a wide coalition of voters into the movement to stop fascism take a huge step in dominating our world, to foreground black women, and support women of colour in their roles as the backbone of grassroots campaigning!

In Australia we don’t get a vote for President of the most influential country on earth, but I can make pots of coffee, chop vegetables, and carry flyers for the hardworking people who can speak to their fellow voters about why this is so important.

After some big life changes (getting academic tenure and a LTR ending) its time to spread my wings again and live life to the fullest in other ways I haven’t had time for, for a while now.

I want to be my full self in that way I know from extensive traveling and living overseas,
meet new people, and be open to the change life brings when you travel and go with the flow of life.
