My name is A-Jay and I am from Canada. I started travelling when I was 20, with my first country being Australia. To say this experience changed me would be an understatement. It completely redefined my life and identity. I became hooked on exploring new places, experiencing new cultures and trying new things (foods, drinks, activities, etc). I basically continued travelling non stop in my 20's, only coming back to Canada to make some money to travel again.
Now in my late 30's, lots has changed. I haven't travelled as much as I'd like to have been, but it's still a very large part of who I am. I feel more compelled now to find my home. Canada isn't it for me.

I've stayed in countless hostels and AirBnB's but these places always lack a real connection to local life. I'm hoping to get a more real and raw experience of the places I visit using Couch Surfing. Being that I'm looking at relocation options, this seems to make the most sense from a research perspective.

Almost exclusively listen to electronic music (bass house, DnB) with a sprinkle of 90's hip hop.

I like documentaries (think Drive to Survive, The Last Dance) and comedies (The Office is one of my favourites). Also, British humour always gets me. If you have a chance to watch Toast of London or People Just Do Nothing, definitely do it!

Hmm, one thing.
Most recently I'd say going to Burning Man (2025). Of all the places I've been and the things I've done, it's like nothing I've experienced before. No picture, video, or group of words can describe it. An absolute must do in my opinion.

I've got a good bit of experience with residential construction, so I'm pretty handy with tools and fixing stuff around a house. Could definitely help you out if something is broken or not working right.

I'm open to learning anything, I always love trying new things.
