ABOUT ME

24 years old - almost 25! Currently living in Ireland for a year, wanting to visit Amsterdam before I head home to the States. In the fall I will be heading to Queen's University Belfast where I will be studying for my master's of public health! I love traveling, meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. Just some of the reasons I decided to move to Ireland for a year!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that life is too short to waste being mad, or upset. I have that, to quote, Drake, "You Only Live Once" attitude. I want to do as much as possible with my life. See and go places most people don't even dream about. I am going to make it happen.

I love traveling. It would have to be my favorite hobby! Reading, Netflix, superhero movies, any movie really, board games, camping, amusement parks, carnivals, stepping out of my comfort zone, social justice, current events, global health.

I traveled to Hannover, Germany with my German class when I was 16. It was absolutely amazing. I loved everything about their culture, the food and the people. I studied German for 4 years, although I can't remember anything! :(

Summer 2011 my friends and I took a spontaneous road trip to San Francisco, California. We left at 11 pm at night and we drove non stop, and got there at 1030 am. We took an hour nap and went right out and walked around the city. We drove home three days later, but it was the highlight of my summer!

During the third week of spring term I left for Tampa, Florida. I missed a ton of school but it was totally worth it. We went to Disney World, Busch Gardens, Clearwater, which has white sand beaches, and met with an old friend from elementary school. It was absolutely amazing, and now I want to move here!

I backpacked through Europe with two of my best friends in the summer of 2012. We visited London, Paris, Berlin, Munich, Vienna, Venice and Rome. It was the best time of my life! And I can't wait to explore new places!

I drove across the US to Florida and back in the winter of 2014. I love road trips!

In 2016, after graduating college I decided I wanted to move to Ireland. I found a job, got my visa and left everything comfortable and familiar. I came to Ireland not knowing anyone, and although it was hard at times, it was the best decision I have ever made. I met some incredible people, learned a lot about myself and really got to throw myself into the Irish culture. I was also able to research my Irish heritage and visit the small village my great-grandfather was born in! I loved Ireland so much, that I'm moving to Belfast for grad school in September 2017!

I want to learn everything I can about other cultures. Things you can't learn from a textbook sitting in a classroom, thousands of miles away. I want to show and tell people what the US is like, and that not everyone has that "American" attitude - especially in our current political climate.
