About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Follow through. Maintain. Live!

ABOUT ME

I am a tiny, quirky little package.

Seriously, I am barely 4'10", and I've never let that stop me. In fact, I love being short.

I am a former journalist with a penchant for good conversation and a love for questions such as "How does that make you feel?"

My heart currently abides in a non-profit here in Lexington, KY called the Carnegie Center for Literacy & Learning, where I serve as a tutor and board member. My experiences at the Carnegie Center have lead me to pursue my Master's in Public Administration with a focus on community development. My dream is to one day open a non-profit that utilizes the literary arts to improve a community.

I am passionate about people and discovering their stories as I am an avid believer that everyone has a fantastically interesting story to tell.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that every individual is connected in some form. In the depths of our souls, we all want the same things in life, despite the paths by which we travel to achieve these goals. In turn, I try to treat everyone with respect, always listening to their point of view and always open to changing mine, if I feel I've been wrong.

I also try to live life to its fullest, attempting at never taking for granted the little things: a good cup of coffee, that perfect song at the perfect time, a great big tree to write under, summer's thick humidity blanket.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking through the Muir Woods, right outside of San Francisco was one of the most spiritual journeys I've experienced. The redwood trees were so large and vast, and I felt so small. It put my life into perspective.

When I was 17, I traveled to New York City with my newspaper staff. It was the first time I had been on such an adventure without my parents. All of the experiences set my heart ablaze for trying new things and embarking on adventures.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love grammar and editing stories, so if anyone has something they want me to look over, I'd love to help you reach your fullest potential on whatever it is you are writing.

I really want to learn how to play the guitar and how to draw realistic images.
