ABOUT ME

I am currently a college student at the University of Miami. I grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and decided that I needed to see new places and meet new people. That continues to be the goal for my life, and I only pray that I can learn about and appreciate every person that comes across my path.

PHILOSOPHY

I strive to live a life of service. I believe that helping people in need is one of the best ways a person can spend her life and serve her God. I truely believe that love can be a tool for greatness in this world, and that if we all showed a little more of it to those around us, the result would be staggering. I pray everyday that I can align my will with God's and become a person that lives, works, and loves for him.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I know that I have such a minor role in the community for now, but I hope that through this program, I might be able to share my beliefs and thoughts with anyone that is willing to listen. I also hope that I can be one of those willing listeners for anyone willing to talk. I believe that this kind of exchange is the one thing that can bring the people of this world together and I would love to be a part of that.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a newbee! I have never slept on a couch in this program, nor have I had anyone sleep on my couch. I am excited to become a more involved traveler through this program, and hope to meet lots of new people through this experience.

Interests

I love the outdoors! Just being outside energizes me, and I would rather sleep outside under the stars than in a bed any night. I love to play sports...all sports, but my favorite is soccer. I love to go camping, hiking, and swimming in rocky streams is one of my favorite things. Even though I'm from the landlocked state of Tennessee, I absolutely love the beach and the ocean. I'm always up for an adventure, and don't mind not knowing where I'm going to be tomorrow!

I love all kinds of music, and it just depends on what mood I'm in when I decide what I want to listen to. Some of my favorite artists include: Bob Marley, the Beatles, Jack Johnson, Missy Elliot, John Mayer, Ben Folds, Ben Harper, Dave Barnes, Matt Wertz, ACDC, the Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, the Features, U2, Aretha Franklin, Black Eyed Peas, the Black Keys, Donovan Frankenreiter, The Doors, The Fray, Jason Mraz, Jimmy Needham, Jimmy Buffet, Marvin Gaye (and anything Motown), Snow Patrol, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Buffalo Springfield and a lot of others!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Brazil last summer, and I think one of the most amazing things I have ever seen are smiles on kids' faces that have no idea what I am saying. (and in turn the smile on my own face despite the fact that I had no idea what they were saying either)
