ABOUT US

We are a professional couple who are in our early 50s. I am a Network Engineer and my husband, Hunter, is a Managing Director. We both work for the same large Financial company. We have three grown sons who no longer live at home and 2 medium sized dogs. We are pretty laid back yet outgoing. We welcome everyone from single travelers to small groups, couples or families. ANIMALS: We are dog people and don't mind hosting your dog(s) as long as they are not aggressive and get along well with other dogs.
Cheddar, our dog, is relatively easy going with strangers and other dogs and loves to play once he gets to know you.

COUCH SURFING EXPERIENCE

I have traveled throughout Mexico and the US. Husband has traveled throughout the US and Canada. We have hosted travelers from Brazil, Australia and even some from here, in Texas (though two of those stays don'tshow up in our profile possibly because we were early adopters?)
They were all wonderful experiences and am glad to have been able to do so. We can't wait to meet you!

We are in the middle of a rather lengthy home remodel, so we are not hosting guests at this time, but hope to be back up with space available in the future.

Interests

Cooking, art, museums, movies, music (rock, punk, alternative, world, classical, blues, rap, trad. Irish), people watching, coffee, brewing beer, finding new beers, wine, scotch, rum, progressive thought, politics, philosophy, animals, knitting, crocheting, reading, activism, languages, other cultures, playing darts, juggling, drawing, music, movies, life long learning, various activities with our wonderful family.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a reader...so I've got tons of favorite books. My favorite classic is Candide, my favorite sci fi novel is currently The Martian, fantasy...oh goodness, there are so many I don't think I can begin, non-fiction...The Nine (about the Supreme Court) is very good, but I've got a lot of contenders for that spot. Movies, I love Comic Book-based movies, Sci-Fi (I'm a Trekkie and a Star Wars fan), fantasy, documentaries and thrillers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We're both Burners (have been to Burning Man, for the confused.)
We love to travel and camp, and we're working on our bucket list items.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Let us know if you have a favorite Texas thing and we'll be happy to bring it with us if we can! We usually bring a bottle of wine with us, for our hosts, but if there is something you prefer, just let us know!
