Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the timeless way of traveling, of being welcomed in from the cold in strange lands and sharing stories and news. Impersonal accommodation feels chilly and partly defeats the point of travel, even when it is affordable to me.

I'm nomadic at the moment, but plan to settle in Tirol in Austria next year. I'd treasure the opportunity to practice my Deutsch, even if it's just meeting up for a walk, and I'd especially treasure making a new friend from Austria.

I'm in Dahab, Egypt right now; there's usually a spare room in the house and I might be able to host you if we meet first and it feels right; normally I would be less careful but I'm being hosted by my dear godmother. and need to think of my own host's tranquility.

Interests

I'm interested in Reality, in its full labyrinthine horror and enchantment. My favorite experience is noticing a hidden passageway in the labyrinth of reality, or when a tangle comes undone and reveals an elegant simplicity in the seeming chaos.
