ABOUT ME

ALL about me?! I guess I'm a mixture of world-saver and business-woman, control freak and dreamer, housewife and party mouse. I've restless feet and an endless but blessed identity crisis. For the past few years I've been trying to figure how to make days longer and weeks to last eight days 'cause there's not enough time to put into practise everything that I'm interested in.It's my second year at arts management studies in Helsinki. Before that I did a degree in music. I was born and grown up in Eastern Finland, moved to Helsinki four and a half years ago. My job is with entertainment business, for a stand up comedy agency and I'm involved with several event management projects. Then I'm also doing a bit of volunteering in a music school of disabled and challenged kids.At the very moment I'm dreaming of learning to sing, planning on starting a food blog called "Chunk Food" or "Onion Union" and visioning a big goverment-ran waste-sorting production for Southern Finnish families with kids. Then, I need to do some vacuum cleaning.

PHILOSOPHY

Saving a bit of the piece of globe I'm on every day by little things. It's easy to keep talking about human rights and forget to say hello to the lonely, old lady next door.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to show surfers my view of Helsinki, the city I've learnt to love, and get to know other countries and cultures. And make new friends, for sure!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a lot, mostly together with my previous flatmate Satu. Surfed couches in Iceland, Netherlands, Belgium and France. My references will tell you more.

I wouldn't trade these experiences into anything, I've had so much fun! All in all - couchsurfing has widened my horizons on a healthy but painless way.

Music is my duvet! I'm open to everything and believe there's good music in all the genres. Now it's the season of alternative female singers - Kate Bush, Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Björk, Anna Calvi, Joni Mitchell, Emiliana Torrini, Vuokko Hovatta...

Movies - American Beauty, Constant Gardener, anything by David Lynch (especially Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive), Inglorious Bastards, Fight Club, Shrek, The Incredibles, Magnolia and oh so many.

I can teach you to cook good porridge, solve the rubik's cube, improvise on Eb minor blues on piano, a bit of traditional Karelian baking, event planning, cursing in Finnish and snowboarding.

I'd love to learn traditional cooking of any country, funny idioms in foreign languages, new card games and children's songs.
