Movies: Her, Inception, Midnight in Paris, Birdman, Scorch Trials lol. I'll also throw in Breaking Bad here, I know it's a show not a movie but I'd consider it one of the most perfect pieces of film out there.

Books: Catcher in the Rye, anything by Haruki Murakami.
