I currently work in human resources helping people with various disabilities become empowered towards long-term employment. I'm not a counselor, but many of my clients come from a place of little hope left and need that encouragement. I believe when we are working again and feel like we can contribute and do something, we become empowered.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm about to finish my Master's Degree in conflict resolution, and I'm spending a week (nov 3 to 10th) in Kona, HI. I'll be looking for potential work in the area as well as networking, and wouldn't mind staying with anyone. I have a friend that is currently working already in Kona as a paralegal, and much of my time will be scouting the area, learning about what resources and services could potentially be offered in the future if I decide to move there March 2017. I would love to help bring mediation services to the area and work with the courts.

I love playing various musical instruments and listening to all varieties. I've been playing for 12 years.

I love teaching and sharing whatever I've learned: biblical studies, music, basic website management, photography/videography, cooking.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm currently living in Portland, OR in a shared house. We do have a guest room that we've never used for couch surfing before, but I'm sure something could be arranged if the right people came.
