Overview
About Me
Technically new to Couchsurfers. I started March 2019 before Covid. Made a couple of friends and went to a few events. I didn’t get a chance to connect and explore through the app before Covid hit and I lost my account with the changes
Borderline addicted to travel. There’s something about being out of my comfort zone that I’ve grown to appreciate- forced to see things from a different perspective. I currently work for a non profit helping our vulnerable communities get the resources they need.
I strive for an immersive experience. I don’t want to spend all of my time doing the tourist things. I want to enjoy the cultural life the locals appreciate.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
One of my biggest priorities when traveling is to get an immersive experience in the country or culture that I’m visiting. I feel like the best way to do that is to connect with locals.
Interests
I love food! Trying new things, wine, and at least doing something out of my comfort zone.
Food and music is probably the perfect combo for me. Jazz music is my happy place- so much feeling and emotion in the sound and rhythm.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a diverse palette for music. I’ve grown to focus on what feels good. Love R&B, jazz, hip-hop, instrumentals, pop, alternative music, Lofi beats.
I have grown to really enjoy anime and I’ve been focused on watching more foreign films.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hang gliding in Brazil was such an amazing experience. It was a reminder to enjoy life and be adventurous. I just booked it the night before to take the big jump the next morning.
Teach, Learn, Share
My background is in education. I worked at a university for six years. I spent a couple years as an adjunct professor teaching operations management. Outside of my professional life I like to focus on well-being. Self-care is really important. And my trip to Thailand reinforce my desire to care for myself and others.
I want to continue to learn and grow. I want to learn how to enjoy the present- to enjoy life itself. I think it’s so easy in this day and age to get wrapped up and work and maintaining the day-to-day. I feel like so many of us are just trying to survive and we forget to live.
I just want to share with others the gratitude of life. There’s so much to appreciate and to seek out. I’ve learned that from some of my encounters while traveling and I hope to share that with new people that I get to me.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I hope to be able to share with my host, the excitement and joy of life. To appreciate the small things such as having lunch with someone else. To find pleasure in the mundane. I like to connect with people, and I feel like when we are honest with our needs and desires, We’re able to find those that can help us. I’ve gotten to help the new friends learn a bit more English. I’ve helped new friends get their artwork featured in art galleries in America. And some people, like myself, just needed a friend.
