I am back in school after 6 years of military service. I am currently traveling in Japan. I'm studying abroad at Tokyo International University. I enjoy exploring, hiking, playing the piano and ukulele, and watching parks and rec. I love meeting new people and thoroughly enjoy a dark beer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to travel alone as it cuts any ties to unwanted obligations and such. I prefer to travel spontaneously without much planning which also make it hard to plan trips with another person. I'm on Couchsurfing because I'm trying to meet interesting people all over Japan.

Music, Movies, and Books

As for music I love anything acoustic. I love pretty much all music, except country.
Favorite movies is a hard one. I like comedy but I love a good movie with a solid plot and a meaningful theme.
The first book I ever read was Harry Potter. But my favorite book is Atlas Shrugged.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked the Triglav Mountains in Slovenia. Their was an avalanche and it took my friend down the mountain. once the initial rush of the avalanche faded I jumped in and rode the avalanche down the mountain. It was most definitely the scariest moment in my life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share good dialogue, conversation and exchange of insight. I find the most important aspect in my past and current travels has been to share experience and receive experience from those around me.
