About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I kinda aspire to everything. In particular, maybe a future in government service, possibly in the Middle East. Currently in the specialty coffee trade!

ABOUT ME

Hello! Glad you're reading this for whatever your reasons may be! I'm from Long Beach, New York, and I go to school just outside of DC. I love history, literature, and food; I love to cook, drink coffee with friends, smoke shisha, and of course gjo out.

PHILOSOPHY

I tend to have opine on everything, but ultimately my philosophy is live and let live. I love to discuss anything and everything -- the more abstract, the better.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't surfed much, but I have hung out with Couchsurfers around the world and made many a lasting friendship through it. I love CS and I'm always excited to hang out with fellow travelers!

Music, Movies, and Books

A Taste of Cherry, The King's Speech, and the Bourne series; Folk (particularly of late), alternative, and the blues (think Bob Dyland, Cold War Kids, and BB King respectively); Catch-22, all things Tolkien, and anything written by George Orwell, Oscar Wilde, and Christopher Hitchens. Also, being a history major I tend to read a lot of (surprise!) historical nonfiction. Always open to suggestions for great stories!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flown a plane (but I'm not a pilot) and played guitar in a band in front of several hundred people (but I'm not a musician). Ask me about it!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm extremely passionate about learning other cultures, and I've spent many years researching Iran. I currently work in coffee, which is actually just as I portal to me. These things intersect! I love to learn the coffee culturesof the places I visit.

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Croatia, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey, Wales

Countries I’ve Lived In

United Kingdom, United States
