ABOUT ME

Hi Surfers of Couches.

I am an American guy living in Hong Kong. I work as a Montessori Elementary teacher. I'm lucky to be doing something I really believe in and after a few years at the school here I hope to start my own school, and also advocate for alternative forms of education through writing and speaking.

I like the outdoors: hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, beach, mountains.
I like to go to concerts and festivals.
I like to travel and meet new people.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been blessed in my life to be helped out by so many people when I was in need. I've had strangers invite me into their house to spend the night and feed and clothe me while cycling around the US. I try my best to pay it back whenever I can, whether by hosting or helping out other travelers

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had great experiences in Central America couchsurfing in the capital cities. I met a lot of great new friends in Denver as well. Hosted a French guy in Portland and he made me crepes!

Interests

I like the outdoors: hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, beach, mountains.
I like to go to concerts and festivals, I like to party but not as often as I used to.
I like to travel (duh) and meet new people.

My passion is writing, I've written several hundred pages of a book but they're all scattered and in different styles. Someday I need to go through and edit. Everyone I meet inspires me as a writer and I hope you will too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sleeping on top of the Mayan temple at Tikal and having a glimpse of a completely different world. I felt as though I was living in a world more technologically advanced than ours in so many ways and yet the technology had developed so differently, and we had never heard a noise louder than the jungle. Woke up to toucans, monkeys, parrots all swinging and flying around.
