ABOUT ME
I'm a down-to-earth Nor-Cal country bumpkin' comprised of an eclectic compilation of many tastes. I'm always open to new perspectives and whether I agree with them or not is irregardless, for it's fascinating to hear the views of those whose experiences are foreign to my own. I can find a good time in a backwoods podunk one-road-town, hiking out and about in nature, or meandering through a maze of skyscrapers where people bustle about like insects in an ant farm. I'm a fiend for culture; true culture, that which is created by the people and not the facades being prescribed and sold by the mainstream media. I always enjoy a good show, whether it's moshing to metal music, bangin' the boots against a barnyard floor, wompin' to some dirty dubstep beat, or just sitting back and listening to good jazz. Essentially, hit me with whatever you got!
PHILOSOPHY
Shit happens = So we took all of our cares and threw them to the wind. There's no such thing as worries when there's no prospects to begin.
Optimistic-realism
Bite the hand, feed yourself!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I just signed on in the midst of this trip, so I have yet to host, but am currently traveling!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've been camping and couch hopping during this 2 month trip around America, but I spent nearly a year's time during 2006/2007 living out of my truck and crashing on friend's couches around my home county of Sonoma. During that year I formed a "leave no trace" policy, hence I clean up after myself and try not to come across as an imposing landmark.
Interests
I think of myself as a pretty politically, socially, historically, environmentally, philosophically (so on and so forth) aware individual and am always down for a good discussion/debate. I also consider myself an artist of sorts. I've been playing music since the age of 4 and have gathered an arsenal of instruments along the way - though drums and percussion are my speciality. Over the past couple of years I've become interested in designing and building my own instruments, and this desire has led me in the direction of metal sculpture, working with both sound and visual elements.
Yosemite and Burning Man are my two Meccas, if that signifies anything to all y'all out there.

Music, Movies, and Books
"There are only two kinds of music, good music and bad music"
-- Louis Armstrong
(same applies to all art forms)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing sights I've ever seen was in 2005 flying home after a 2 month stint in Europe. As we were passing over the fjords of Greenland, sitting window side I was looking down at the snow laden crescent shaped mountains with the water running betwixt 'em all. As I brought my gaze upwards, the sun and the moon sat boldly together resting in the same sky. It was a living dreamscape.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm very much a DIY (do it yourself) type of person, be it cooking, basic mechanics and construction, educating, or overturning BS laws. I like to think I've got a pretty good head on my shoulders that has a lot to teach, but far more to learn.
