About Me

I’m Aaryan, a storyteller and a spiritual seeker.
Life has taken me from dusty village paths to film festivals, but my soul still finds joy in shared meals, conversations, and the silence of Nature.

I made my debut film Aājoor with non-actors with rural communities, a quiet rebellion against the noise of mainstream cinema. It became the first feature in the Bajjika language, rooted in the lives and dreams of people often overlooked. I also co-founded Shrirampur Samvad Foundation, where we use art, nature, and skill based learning to keep hope alive in forgotten places.

I’ve wandered through remote Himalayan villages, coastal towns, and tribal belts, not to tick off lists, but to listen. I believe in slow travel, barefoot walks, and the magic of shared spaces.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We all inhabit a single planet, and it is merely by chance that some of us are born in one place while others are born elsewhere. Our individual journeys may vary due to diverse circumstances, but we all share a common goal: to forge our own paths and shape our lives. I believe it is crucial to connect with people who have embarked on their own travels, to listen to the whispers of their inner voice. Travelers are akin to rivers, and being in their presence often evokes a sense of meditation and tranquility.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My travels have revolved around exploring the art and culture of remote societies, and it has been an incredibly exciting journey. What makes it truly exhilarating is that I never pre-plan my trips, embracing the uncertainty that comes with each adventure. It is through this spontaneity that I have learned valuable lessons and gained a wealth of knowledge. Every experience has been nothing short of amazing for me, and I continue to embrace the wonders that unfold during my travels.

Teach, Learn, Share

Nature has been my greatest teacher, serving as both my school and university. I have learned everything from the embrace of nature, and I am eager to share the invaluable lessons it has imparted upon me. It is through nature’s subtle guidance that I have discovered a profound way of perceiving the world, connecting with its roots and gaining a deeper understanding of life’s wonders.
