CURRENT MISSION

I'm looking to begin a cross country cycling trip, E-W in the warm season of 2013. I'd like to end up in Yosemite. Then I'll start grad school in the fall.

ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm currently planning my last hurrah before starting grad school (there will be more hurrahs during and after grad school however). I want to bike from the east coast of the US to the west and to mostly camp along the way (the cheaper I can make the trip, the longer I can stay out there!). My hope is that I'll be able to meet up with some other couchsurfers in a pinch if there's a hurricane/ my frame cracks in half/ I need a safe floor to sleep on in an especially unfamiliar part of the country. Earlier hurrahs include trekking in the Himalayas, cave exploring from NY to AL, canyoneering in Zion, multiple backpacking weekends in the Adirondacks and the Appalachian Trail and lots of summers working at Girl Scout camps and farms.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to have a home to offer to other vagabonds in the fall but currently am only seeking places to stay. I can provide you with excellent stories about my various misadventures, lessons in tree I.D. and ecology, song and dance routines, and beer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Weekend (and longer) stays in the frontcountry and backcountry with members of the couchsurfing community I went to college with.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

When I was 11 I met an Appalachian Trail thru-hiker named Chameleon who had been struck by lightning the week before and hiked in a rainbow kilt. He had no problem at all mooching food from the Girl Scout group I was with. It was my first brush with a hiking bum and the experience guided my life choices forever after. Decidedly towards hiking bum status.
