Hi! My name’s Abigail and I currently live with my parents out in the “boonies” of Iowa on the Des Moines river. ‘Trying to decide what I want to be (and where) when I grow up so I can get going with my life! Right now, I'm just exploring hobbies, interests, and different locations so I can find my passion.
I grew up on a hobby farm, so the outdoors and being around animals is my true comfy place. I like the idea of getting back to that and of maybe having my own acreage some day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea of getting to know people who actually live where I'm planning on traveling to. It enriches the experience tenfold.
And visa versa, if I can get my parents on board, I'd love to make people feel at home on the river here!

Music, Movies, and Books

My tastes in the arts are fairly eclectic.

For music, I'm into most anything that has that certain something.

A few favorite movies: The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Amélie, Star Wars, everything by Hayao Miyazaki, classic Disney, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, A Knight's Tale, Ten Things I Hate About You, Young Frankenstein

Books: Sherlock Holmes, The Hobbit, David Copperfield, The Chronicles of Narnia, Little Women, Harry Potter, and Dracula are few of my favorites.
I also enjoy comics and graphic novels.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach the fundamentals of knitting! And how to make my grandma's amazing sugar cookies (there's not one, but TWO secret ingredients).
I'd love to learn how to sew. I have my grandma's old machine, but it's sat idle for a few years now. I also want to know more about gardening and cooking. Also, I love to dance, but I've had no formal instruction. ^-^

What I Can Share with Hosts

I could scratch out some tunes on my violin if you'd like.
I've been told I'm a good conversationalist, and I have a good sense of humor, if I do say so myself.
I'm also more than willing to help with cooking, gardening, lawn work, painting, or just whatever needs doing if you feel comfortable with that. I had a cleaning job for almost a year, so I can clean quite well too.
