About Me

I am a 21 year old college student from Kentucky, USA. I am a biology major about to start my final year of university, and hope to attend graduate school to pursue a PhD in entomology (the study of insects). I love bugs, exploring, and my ferrets. I haven't been many places, but I am trying to take this opportunity in my life to travel as much as I can. I firmly believe that the best part of traveling are the connections you make with people along the way. The best memories I have from the places I've been are associated with the people I met. My next destination is Western Europe, where I will be spending a month with three of my friends. This will be my first time in Europe, and I am so excited!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I travel, I want to go somewhere new, meet someone new, and have a new story to tell. Although I still live at home to save money while I finish my bachelor's, I plan on moving out for graduate school in the next couple years. When I have my own place, I'd love to host fellow travelers.

Interests

If you ask me whether I'm a dog or cat person, my answer will be ferrets. I will likely show you pictures of my ferrets. I love ferrets. I'm also really into bugs, if you couldn't already tell, and I want to spend the rest of my life studying medical entomology and trying to prevent those nasty diseases like malaria, zika, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

Best book I've read to date: 1984
Lion King has been my favorite movie since I was four, or maybe I'm using that as an excuse because I can't pick...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Kayaked down Rio Claro in Costa Rica, swam back up the river, than hiked up a waterfall, all in one day!

Teach, Learn, Share

If you name an insect, I can tell you the order it belongs to (thrilling, I know)!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd say I can pretty much get along with anyone. I have a lot of niche interests, but usually always find something in common with the people I meet. I love to talk and get to know people, and I love hearing people's stories! I can cook (sort of) and clean. I am also down to do pretty much anything adventurous and fun. If you're looking for a hiking buddy, I'm all yours (and I'll be sure to point out every single insect I see).

Countries I’ve Visited
