I am Abdelrahman from Cairo,Egypt.I am 25 years old.I am a chemical engineering and, currently, i am doing my masters in Magdeburg. Travelling is my utmost hobby. I dream of visiting as many countries as i can. Germany is the first country that i visited.Since I am currently doing my Masters in Germany, I am looking forward to visit top touristic places in Germany, then in Europe.Beacuse of some financial issues,my travels were limited in the last years only to Egypt, but,luckily, Egypt is packed full of monuments and beauty for which doesn't seem to be an end : ) My other hobbies include language learning and reading history and poetry. I like also to meet fellow travelers and to hear their exciting adventures and stories.

I am on Couchsurfing becuase I like meeting new people from other faraway parts of the world. I simply enjoy showing travelers the beauty of my Country, when I am in my home town. Likewise, I like to visit new places and experience life in other parts of the world like an insider not with a birdeye view. And who is better than locals at doing this? That is why i like to be hosted by locals when possible or to hang up with them.Talking with locals is also as interesting as talking with travelers; One hears from both of them wonderful stories and adventuries, gets deep insight into the culture and aspirations of their people, and ,most importantly, makes great friendships : )

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

one of the things that I will never forget in my life is my trip to Aswan just after i had finished my bachelors. Truly, Aswan is the paradise of earth. Really,I had never experienced before a place with such turquoise river water as the waters of the river Nile in Aswan. And, it enjoys not only wonderful nature but also one of the most hospitable and generous people i have ever met; the Nubian people. Over the course of a week I visited a lot of mesmerizing ancient Egyptian monuments: the Philae temple, which is located in an island in the middle of the river Nile, the museum of Aswan and the Nubian museum and the temples of Kom Ombo and Edfo. The pinnacle of the trip, however; was visiting the UNESCO world heritage site of Abo Simbel , situated 300 km to the south of Aswan and just 30 km from Sudan. After a three hour ride in the though the desolate desert, I found myself standing in front of these two gigantic Temples built by the ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Ramsis III. and Oh my lord. how colossal and awesome they are!!! I just felt i went 2500 years back in time by marveling at the beauty of the surprisingly and still wonderfully well preserved wall paintings, inscriptions and sculptures.
