You are welcome to the beautiful windy city of Essaouira!

Your stay with me in my small home will be a cultural immersion experience – show you the city, language exchange, cook traditional Moroccan dishes, live gnaoua music.

The location is great, right in the heart of the Medina along the souks.
Less than 10 minute walk to the main square and the port and a 15 minute walk to the beach.
While staying with me in Essaouira you will have the chance to experience this lovely city from a locals perspective. Essaouira is much different than other cities in Morocco, and even though it’s a city it feels like a small calm village, you will feel at home! We can cook together - Moroccan meals as well as you can show me a dish from your home!

there is a lush forest you can discover but also this will give you free time to explore the city on your own. Getting lost in the souks is one of many travelers favorite things to do while here! Or head to the beach – but prepare for the wind sometimes!!

Activities
While staying with me in Essaouira we could arrange many activities! I can manage surf lessons for you with board and wetsuit or. We can plan day trips hiking to near villages or camping trips to non-touristic sights such as a beautiful serene waterfall in the countryside that’s next to the sea, also there is a river we could camp.
If you enjoy cooking i could organize cooking time to show you traditional Moroccan dishes like tajine, couscous, omelets, Moroccan tea, etc! (Vegetarians and vegans welcome!) You will get to try fresh olive oil from my family farm! J
On Sundays there is a market in the countryside I could take you to experience.
If you have any special hobbies feel free to share with us, in the past we have hosted guests who played poi and hula hooping, everyone enjoys play time!

Accommodation
I can arrange to pick you up from the bus station, its just a few minutes walk to my place. You will feel safe here, the people of Essaouira are friendly.
There is one private room available for couples or you are welcome to share with other travelers. 10 people max. Blankets provided. There is a small kitchen for you to cook if you would like. The toilet and shower are combined in the bathroom and will be shared for all guests.

What else
While staying with me in Essaouira I want you to feel free, relaxed, and comfortable. The sunsets are always lovely to watch from the port or the beach. There is a small terrace in my home and like all places in Morocco there is also a rooftop terrace. The rooftop terrace has a view overlooking the old medina; feel free to use the space as you please, for yoga, meditation, or just relaxing. We can go for walks together around the city, I will recommend good places for you to go. During the evenings we can cook or go out for local cuisine then sometimes we have live music or play card games together; I can teach you some I know and feel free to teach me a new game as well! My goal is to provide you a unique experience in Essaouira and to feel at home, like family. Generally I try to really get to know my guests so feel free to message me with questions or just to chat and while you are here I hope we can spend some time together! If you are planning to travel more in Morocco I can aid in planning your next trip, giving you the best locations to visit in my country!

N.B : we are not here for the commerce and we don't use couchsurfing like a commercial website. Couchsurfing is just for hosting and having fun together :)
