Overview
About Me
Hi! I’m a news and documentary producer. My work takes me around the world, giving me the chance to meet people from different cultures and hear unique stories. I always get excited about discovering new things, and I truly enjoy sharing my own experiences as well.
What I value most are the connections built through genuine conversations and cultural exchange. I’m based in Istanbul and love showing the city’s hidden corners and local spirit to those who are curious.
I don’t drink or smoke, but I respect those who do. For me, Couchsurfing is about culture, experience, and friendship — and I look forward to meeting open-minded, easygoing people.
And I’m not f***ing gay, bro. WTF.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I travel a lot, and sometimes I just need a friend, sometimes a place to stay for a night. Sure, I could stay in a hotel, but it’s much better to meet new people and connect with locals.
I believe Couchsurfing is a great way to discover the world through real and curious people. Sometimes I enjoy staying with locals instead of hotels, and sometimes I host. I live in Üsküdar, Istanbul, close to the seaside, and I like welcoming mindful people into my home.
Interests
I enjoy cycling, exploring new neighborhoods, and finding hidden food spots in the city. Cooking is another thing I love — if there’s time, I’m always happy to share a meal.
Photography is one of my passions. I’ve always loved chasing the best light, and sunrise and sunset are my favorite moments of the day. Water also draws me — rivers, seas, lakes… anywhere with water feels amazing to me.
Music is a big part of my life (these days I listen a lot to Ahmet Kaya). I enjoy books too, from history to philosophy, but sometimes just a good conversation is better than any book.
Mostly, I like relaxed, open-minded people who enjoy laughing, talking, and appreciating simple things in life.

Music, Movies, and Books
These days, I mostly listen to Ahmet Kaya. My favorite book used to be Sapiens, but now it’s the Quran — if you read it and truly try to understand, you’ll see the wisdom and moral framework it brings to humanity.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Survived a few near-death experiences in war zones — and learned to see life from a very different perspective. I worked under bombing many times last one was 11 November 2022 🤦🏽♂️
Teach, Learn, Share
I speak Turkish (originally a Turkish guy), English, and Arabic. I’m always open to language exchange, teaching, or just practicing together.
I like learning new things — whether it’s about culture, food, photography, or just life experiences. And I’m happy to share what I know about Istanbul, Turkish culture, and the little details that make a place feel alive.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If I have time, I can share whatever is needed — a map, local tips, or even guide you around a bit. I live in a very central location in Istanbul, with a nice place close to the seaside. I can’t host many people, but when I’m available and in town, I can offer a bed or sometimes a couch.
Cleanliness is important to me. Different cultures have different habits, but my home is my private space, so I expect respect for that. Trust is essential, so of course it doesn’t make sense to leave my place to someone I just met — but once there’s mutual trust, I’m happy to provide a private space if possible.
I also enjoy good conversations and cooking. If we get along and I have time, I’d love to cook — I really enjoy it. On Fridays, there’s a local market (Cuma Pazarı) near my home, and if you’re around, I’d be happy to take you there. I love sharing local experiences with people who are open and easygoing.
