Overview
About Me
Hey! I’m Latif – a curious soul with a techy mind and a big appreciation for cultural vibes and good conversation. I study computer science in University of Latvia
But life isn’t all ones and zeroes – I love connecting with people, especially through travel, shared meals, local festivals, or spontaneous late-night talks. I recently joined the Midsummer celebration in Riga and had such a meaningful time meeting open, kind-hearted people from different backgrounds – it reminded me how powerful travel and human connection can be.
I’m easygoing, respectful, clean, and always up for helping out – whether it’s cooking together, sharing stories, or lending a hand with anything around the house. If you’re hosting, I’ll bring good vibes, curiosity, and probably a few geeky fun facts too :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet real people, share genuine experiences, and make travel more human. Hotels don’t tell stories – but people do.

Music, Movies, and Books
I vibe with a wide range — from indie and chill electronic to folk and old-school hip-hop. Big fan of artists who make you feel something: Bon Iver, FKJ, Nujabes, Florence + The Machine, and sometimes deep into lo-fi beats while coding. Open to local music wherever I go — music is a window into culture.
Movies:
Love thought-provoking films and clever storytelling. Favorites include Her, Into the Wild, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and The Grand Budapest Hotel. Also enjoy sci-fi like Interstellar and anything with a unique visual style or good existential questions.
Books:
Reading both for the brain and the soul — mix of tech, philosophy, and fiction. Some favorites:
• Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari
• The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
• Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
• Anything by Dostoevsky when I’m in a deep-thinking mood
And always down for a good book recommendation — especially from travelers.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Jumped into the unknown and joined a traditional Latvian Midsummer celebration with strangers — ended up dancing around bonfires, learning folk songs, and making connections that felt like old friendships.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach:
I can teach you the basics of coding (especially C++ or anything techy), how to think like a programmer, or even how to use tools like Power BI if you’re into data. Also happy to share a bit about Latvian culture, or just help you troubleshoot your tech problems over coffee.
Learn:
Always curious to learn about other cultures, languages, and ways of thinking. Whether it’s how to cook a traditional dish, local customs, or just a new perspective on life — I’m here for it. Would love to improve my travel stories, learn new music styles, or pick up new habits from people I meet.
Share:
I can share good conversations, random fun facts, and a chill vibe. If we cook together, even better. Also happy to share playlists, book recs, or just moments of quiet connection without pressure.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Respectful energy, good company, and a curious mind. I’m happy to help around the house, cook together (or try your favorite local recipe), and share stories or music from my side of the world. If you’re into tech or data, I can show you a few cool things or teach you something useful.
I’m independent and clean, but also happy to connect — whether it’s chatting over tea, going for a walk, or just sharing a quiet evening. I travel to learn, not just to see — so I always bring openness, gratitude, and good vibes.
