Before I set off into the greater global world, i want develop a better understanding of the sub-cultures in the United States

ABOUT ME

I am currently a senior engineering student in California. I have only lived on the west coast of the United States and have visited more Canadian cities than US cities.

I love being in new situations and places, that feeling of totally new discovery. I am perpetually lost, but don't mind at all. No plans are the best-laid plans.

I prefer smaller, more personal groups of people, especially of the relaxed variety. I hold respect and responsibility very highly, and value it when i find it in others. I am a centrist, and do not believe that any side is right all the time. I don't mind people who are passionate, but being closed-minded because of it is one of my pet-peeves.

I love reading, especially sci-fi and fantasy. I enjoy b-side music, as well as a lot of the more popular artists. I've played video games most of my life, and though i don't really spend much time with them now, i can still talk shop about most.

I love to cook and eat, and make this an important part of any trip i take to try as many new things as possible. Some of my favorite people from the culinary world are Alton Brown of Good Eats and Anthony Bourdain, who authored Kitchen Confidential and A Cook's Tour.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My uncle has been leading trips up to the peak of Mt. St. Helens for almost two decades. The hike is relatively easy for a summit, but walking through lava fields which were actively very recently, and watching steam and smoke come out of the inside of the crator, just feels good to be there.
