"No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up" This is what I am trying to do with my life, each day to the next.
Hey there, I'm Abby.
I'm a travel, people + animal lover, rock climber, hiker, socializer, reader, cook...
I love to learn phrases in different langauges so I feel like I could live in a different country only knowing how to say "where's the bathroom/hospital?" but with a REALLY good accent.
I like open my mind through discourse with those of different perspectives.
I love to exercise creativity, be active and overall, have a good time.
Beer culture, traveling, rock-climbing and self improvement enthuse me :D
Do unto others as you would have done unto you. (The Golden Rule)
Follow your bliss.
“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted and surfed, met seriously great people, some of my best friends in fact, and both activities along with CS meetups have enriched my life in an indescribable way.
I found out about CS in Prague. Had a lovely experience with amazing people I still think of as friends today. Hosted some in D.C. and NYC, and this past summer, Couch Surfed in 16 countries, HOLY EFF! Nothing but great experiences.
Traveling, the outdoors including: hiking, rock climbing and mountaineering, pickup sports like soccer/football/frisbee, reading a good book, hanging out with friends, drinking delicious beer, meeting new people and seeing new thing.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Spirited Away, Un Prophet, En la Cama (loved this one), Requiem for a Dream, Stupid movies like Super Troopers ;), Forrest Gump :P, Amadeus, Girl Interrupted, Closely Watched Trains
Music: anything that makes me feel something or that I can dance to ;)
Books: The Millenium Trilogy, The Looming Tower, Love in the Time of Cholera, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In the summer of 2011, I traveled for four months to 16 countries in Europe by myself and learned how to hitch hike (one of my bucket list items.) IT. WAS. AWESOME.
Other fun facts:I've seen my grandfather's hometown in Poland and my grandmother's hometown in Romania. There, a man told me that when he was 11 years old, he remembers my great grandfather getting shot in the chest (by anti-Semites) and surviving, which brought tears to his eyes, and consequently mine.
I've fed a 400 pound bear honey, after which he appropriately responded by sneazing bear juice all over my face.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can take you climbing, hiking, we can practice my Spanish/French, we can talk about traveling, beer, and film and television (I've worked in that industry. I love to discuss movies and compare opinions.)
What I Can Share with Hosts
