ABOUT ME

I lived in Korea for one year in 2011, and I've been trying to work on learning Korean since I've been back home. I won a swing-dance-a-thon in Seoul. (It's unofficial, but we were the last ones standing after 8 hours, so I count it.) Last year (in 2013), I stayed in France for about a month and then traveled by train through the mountains to Switzerland. I went to Iceland for a little bit and went to the Blue Lagoon. In autumn/winter of 2013, I stayed in Israel for 3 months; I traveled all over Israel--to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, the Red Sea, and Galilee.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started couchsurfing with some friends I met while staying at hostels. Last year, I started using the couchsurfing website while I was traveling down to Florida to escape the cold.

Interests

Right now, working on research for my dissertation; I also enjoy spinning, knitting, weaving, and felting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any BBC series, Pride and Prejudice, and Jane Eyre. I was a lit major in school, and I'm a fan of pretty much any 19th century literature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking in the White Mountains on a clear day; I could see all the way down into the valley and across to where the train was coming up Mt. Washington. Everything looked so surreal. A thunderstorm started moving in over Mt. Washington and I had to race to get to the peak and down over to the other side to the Lake of the Clouds Hut before the lightning started.
