About Me

After reading others profiles I realise I have gone a little overboard but hope you enjoy finding out a little about me.

New to travelling. Really ready to get out and budget my way around the world. Currently studying but getting ready to get stuck in, in late 2018. I unfortunately suffer from some quite crippling anxiety and I want to use this experience to meet new friends and improve myself to become a better, more confident version of me. Here to suss the couch surfing community out, so hopefully I can be a participating member later this year. I want to be able to inspire people like so many of the amazing people I have met have inspired me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m desperate to travel, but I’m more desperate to break out of my shell and become the person I want to be. I really think that Couchsurfing would give me excellent opportunities to meet amazing people and better immerse myself into different cultures and ideologies, as well as help me be more confident, courageous, motivated and spontaneous.

Interests

I’m incredibly passionate about animals and aim to see as many as possible while I travel, whether that’s snow monkeys in a Japanese forest or your pet cat lazing in your garden bed, I’m up for it all. Slowly trying to make my way into an industry where I can work with and help amazing animals every day.
Music is another big interest, though I’m shy and the least bit outgoing when I have people around me who make me comfortable I love to get out and see live music of all different genres.
Anything arty really, I have zero skill but that doesn’t mean I won’t bust out pencil and paper and try sketch something that looks nothing like what it’s meant to be or crack out my camera and take a completely unaesthetic photograph. Galleries and museums are a favourite, if I can see something beautiful or learn something from it in down.
I’m interested in YOU. I love to get to know people and their passions and understand what makes them tick.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a very wide music taste. However, this being said, I do have my preferences which include indie, punk, acoustic, alternative styles.

Movie taste is also quite varied. I enjoy a variety of genres depending on my mood and company with my favourite 2 movies being Fight Club and How to Train Your Dragon with Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Hot Fuzz, and quite a few others trailing close behind.

I haven't been a big reader the past few years however I am hoping to change that. Any book recommendations are welcome!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about Australian culture and attempt to teach you English (though I’m not sure how good I would be at it). I want to learn about your culture, your country, your town. Teach me your language, a musical instrument and we can jam (I can currently play a very small collection of chords on ukulele and guitar). I can share with you stories, drinks, music, good times, laughs and late night chats, as well as show you all the amazing things my little part of the world has to offer.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’d love to share with hosts anything they can gain from me. My knowledge and experience is limited but as it grows I hope I can share my experiences, skills and ideas with the world. I want to be inspired and inspire in return.
Obviously I am happy to help with absolutely anything when I stay with you to, whether it be someone to share a bevy with, clean around the house, I can always attempt to cook a meal though I’m not sure how that would turn out, help with any projects, offer any advice or just listen.
