About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get my Master's in Criminology and fully experience life on the Gold Coast!

ABOUT ME

I just moved to Gold Coast, Australia to pursue my Master's in Criminology. I'm so excited to live in this part of the world, and am looking forward to the beach, people, outdoors, food, etc. Everything really!
I am laid back and open-minded. I love seeing the sights, experiencing the culture, people, food, and drink of every place we go. I'm pretty outgoing and can usually get along with anybody.
A few years ago I lived in Spain for a semester then travelled around Europe for 3 months with a boyfriend. We've loved our time in Europe, and have been inspired to better ourselves and our world, and think that couch surfing is one way that we can take small steps towards a better world. Hard to sum up a whole person in a little box, so if you want to know more, ask!

PHILOSOPHY

Best way to have a fulfilling life is to be true to yourself. Golden rule: treat others how you wish to be treated.
This came from a dear friend, and I agree, so I'm putting it here: All is One. All religions, cultures and beliefs revolve around a sense of community and in our modern world that community includes every single one of us.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just moved here, so I doubt I can host for a while, but I'd love to get involved in the community. Then maybe once I'm more settled I can start hosting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Stayed with 5 people total. So nice to be able to feel like one of the population instead of just a stranger looking in from a distance. It is an amazing feeling to walk into the home of someone you previously didn't know and for them to open it up and open their hearts and minds to you.

Interests

I am interested in experiencing pretty much anything and everything I can. I am interested in music, sports (I play soccer), seeing the sights, experiencing the culture and history, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

V for Vendetta, The Fountain, Coen Brothers, Quentin Tarantino, Toy Story, Shrek, Ice Age, Princess Bride, Fight Club, The Matrix trilogy, pretty much all animated films, Avatar, pretty much any movie really, yes even a good sappy love movie or chick flick every once and a while.
I attended the independent music festival, "Truck" to see This Town Needs Guns and other bands near Oxford, England at the end of July 2010! It was my first music festival and it was awesome! Can't wait to experience that again.

I love suspense/mystery books. I enjoy the Alice Seabold books (Lovely Bones and Lucky) and the Philip Pullman (Golden Compass) series, as well as book like The Power of One, The Invisible Man, The Giver, and more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share

This seems like an awesome idea! Not just to share the knowledge that we have, but the adventures we have been on. And to gain the knowledge and stories from others. Share food, stories, drinks, laughs, and fun!!
