About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Observe what's going on across the United States.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to serve all things living. I'm only pretty sure that nothing is certain, and that all we have is perception. I think that we humans were given the special gift of intelligence by the design of nature, and that it is our duty, our responsibility, to make the absolute most of it. I believe that the mechanism of our intelligence is happiness: we will be happiest when we are fully engaged in our immediate surroundings, solving problems and thinking well.

I think that biodiversity is absolutely essential to the continuation of life on this planet, and that unfortunately some of our forefathers didn't really understand this when they set up the systems currently pervading the United States of America, and other industrialized parcels of land across our home planet. I believe that boredom follows standardization, and unhealthy lives follow boredom, and that death is the end result of unhealthy lives (and yeah, healthy ones too). So, standardization => Death.

I think that the purpose of law is to come to a simple set of guidelines on how to live successfully in this world with each other, and that the institutions that create what we know as law in most industrialized, "modern", nations have overstepped their boundaries and gone far beyond their purpose. I believe that the idea of success has also been severely bastardized and standardized, and that people are slowly realizing this through their unhappiness with their standard lives. I believe that if we are to survive, we must understand that we are stewards of this planet, and this life. That means we serve it, not the other way around.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen the sequoia trees in California, I've seen Yellowstone National Park, I've flown over the Atlantic ocean, I've seen the Costa Rican rainforest from the viewpoint of a zipline.

Teach, Learn, Share

TED.com is an amazing website that everyone with the internet should probably be using.

You can make a solar heater out of aluminum cans that heats a space of 1000 sq ft for a tiny fraction of more conventional methods. You can even set up an automated system using small reclaimed computer fans and solar cells. If there's enough sunlight to power the fans, there's enough light to heat up the air in the can heater and blow hot air into your space.

Metal roofing is better for the environment than shingles, also they last longer and can be made from repurposed material, and can be recycled when you're done with them.
