Music, Movies, and Books

I’m a big fan of Raï music, and artists like Cheb Khaled and Cheb Mami hold a special place in my heart for their energetic and soulful tunes.

"The Battle of Algiers":
This classic film by Gillo Pontecorvo offers a powerful portrayal of the Algerian War of Independence and is a must-watch.

"The Last Summer of Reason":
by Tahar Djaout – A thought-provoking novel that delves into themes of political and social change in Algeria.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During my travels to Tunisia, I had the chance to experience an adventure that I’ll never forget. One of the highlights of my trip was exploring the ancient city of Carthage, which is steeped in history and surrounded by stunning ruins.

My journey began with a guided tour of the archaeological site, where I marveled at the remnants of ancient Roman baths, amphitheaters, and the impressive Antonine Baths. The guide's stories brought the ruins to life, and I could almost feel the echoes of the past as I walked through the ancient streets.

One particularly memorable part of the adventure was a visit to the Medina of Tunis. Wandering through the narrow, winding alleys, I was captivated by the vibrant souks filled with colorful spices, handcrafted textiles, and traditional Tunisian ceramics. The warm hospitality of the local vendors, who were eager to share their culture and stories, made the experience even more special.

In the evening, I had the opportunity to enjoy a traditional Tunisian meal at a local restaurant. The flavors of dishes like couscous, brik, and harissa were absolutely incredible. Sharing the meal with new friends I met along the way made the evening even more memorable.

To top off the trip, I spent a day exploring the stunning beaches of Hammamet. The crystal-clear waters and beautiful Mediterranean coastline provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation and reflection.

This adventure in Tunisia was a perfect blend of history, culture, and natural beauty, and it left me with cherished memories and a deep appreciation for the rich heritage of this wonderful country.
