COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a really great experience using this in the southeast of Turkey, where I met a family who hosted me incredibly well. I've also surfed many couches before joining, because I travel a lot doing social/environmental justice work. I've found that anyone willing to take people in and share their knowledge about a place is generally good people!
I do prefer people who talk a good deal, but quiet ones are of course welcome!

Music (playing it, listening to it, going to shows), cooking and baking, turning old clothes into useful things, walking barefoot through cold mud, being helpful while encouraging personal autonomy, good coffee...
