Shaun and Jo here!

We are a couple who have left our desk jobs and London life behind for a year. Travelling some of the world with our backpacks. Starting in Japan and finishing in Peru - however hoping to extend if we can :)

We want to explore areas of the world that the usual tourist may not see and meet the locals - couchsurfing seems like a good opportunity to do this.

Happy to return the favour when we are back in the UK/London :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Living in London for 7 years in a house share, we met many people from different walks of life. We had many housemates friends live with us for a few days or few weeks and always enjoyed getting to know new cultures and took great pride in helping them tour around London or other parts of the UK.

We find this is the best way to get to know somewhere so coachsurfing seems like a win win situation!

Music, Movies, and Books

Shaun loves acoustic guitar so is into fingerstyle guitar music (Tommy Emmanuel), which then goes onto John Mayer and ends with house music! He is also going through a 'dad rock' stage whilst travelling.

Jo is very varied - think musicals, Spice Girls, 90s, 80s, RnB... so very varied

Also varied mix of films - so far on our travels we have seen Toy Story 4 and Aladdin at the cinema - so Jo chooses most of the films :) we are currently going old school and watching the entire series of Lost.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed Mount Fuji for sunrise

and.. packed in our jobs for a year to see the world!

Experienced travellers so advice on places we have travelled including where we are from. The odd admin and legal help too (😉)

Shaun can also make pretentious coffee - yep his coffee grinder and AeroPress is currently travelling with us!
