Sobre mí

Hi, I’m Ada, currently a 25-year-old master’s student majoring in English translation from Beijing, China. I was born and raised in Sichuan Province(I know we are famous for Sichuan cuisine🌶️, hotpot🍲 and panda🐼 haha, but more importantly, friendly and warm people here!). I also spent my undergraduate years in Hainan Province, where I developed love for beaches!

I'm planning a trip to Europe for the first time, aiming to soak up the local vibes and culture rather than just ticking off touristy spots.

I’m clean, easy-going, and respectful—maybe a tad shy at first, but I open up fast and love a good chat once we click! 😆

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

In the summer of 2021, during my under-graduation trip, I had an unforgettable Couchsurfing experience with a friend. We stayed with a fascinating couple who opened my eyes to a world of possibilities, especially as a young woman just stepping out of university.

To me, couchsurfing is the best way to connect with people from diverse cultures. These interactions are super helpful to enrich my life, spark self-reflection, and inspire personal growth. And I'm also willing to share my culture with people around the world who are interested in it. The world could get better if people can understand and respect each other more with good communication:)

I'm excited to meet new people, share stories, and learn from different perspectives!

Música, películas y libros

I’m a bit old-school, drawn to the charm of last century’s music, films, and architecture.

I don’t have a single favorite genre—I love any music that resonates. I do have some favorite bands from the Beatles, Bee Gees, Backstreet Boys, Carpenters to Mayday(I'm a die hard fan)!

I like old movies, B&W ones are extermely fascinating. I'd appreciate it if you can recommend more to me :)

Also, I love reading in my spare time. I prefer non-fictions and poetry. But my fav book is A Dream in Red Mansions, one of China's four great classical novels. I’m also inspired by the insightful works of Peter Hessler, the introspective poetry of Fernando Pessoa and Yu Xiuhua, and the thought-provoking essays of Ueno Chizuko.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

As a passionate language learner, I’m fascinated by diverse cultures and the unique people they shape. I’d love to teach you some Chinese—whether it’s basic phrases or diving into the nuances of the language! I’m also an eager learner, excited to soak up new perspectives from anyone with a different background:)

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

I’d love to bring a small souvenir from China to share a piece of my culture with you! I enjoy cooking Chinese dishes and I’m happy to whip up a meal together. I’m also glad to help with chores or simply sit down for a coffee or take a long walk, swapping stories about books, films, or life’s adventures. If you ever visit my city, I’d be excited to show you around and return the hospitality!
