I stranded in Berlin / Germany and regularly start my travels from there. In the meantime I gained great couchsurfing skills as a guest and I think also as a host. I like feeling comfortable and having a good time, so I always make sure that people around me feel just the same.
I am laid back, polite and friendly, like to socialise but am also independent. Quite independent! Travelling on my own has become a speciality of mine, but only due to Couchsurfing which makes up for lonely moments.
I am known for laughing and my humour.
Currenty I'm dedicating myself to my passion projects around cultural projects, exhibitons, social campaigns and fair trade.
I don't like old and unflexible structures and often swim upstream when I think it is for a good cause. Thinking outside the box and adopting some of these thought in everyday-life is something I really regard necessary. I am generally interested in hearing about different philosophies. A Couchsurfer introduced my to the Chinese philosophy I Ching and I became a keen reader of the book.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been a couchsurfer since 2008 - a periode long enough to state that I made the most amazing experiences with strangers through the network, but unfortunately also a few irritating encounters. Therefore I have come to the conclusion that it should be better to only open my house to female couchsurfers and couples.
I have made so many close friends via Couchsurfing in the last five years. Unforgotten is a Couchsurfing stay near San Francisco where I ended up on a couch with a spectacular view at the place of an amazing CS woman. Instead of staying 3 day, I ended up staying 8 weeks! Great times.
Cultural projects, creating innovative exhibition concepts and fair trade in general; everything that focuses on the well-being of human beings; learning languages - my year long project: portuguese.
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm distracted at the moment and wish I could focus more on these things...
Book: The Unbearable Lightness of Being
Music: Grizzly Bear
Movie: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Women are Heroes (great French documentary movie)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1. my sub-conciousness led me to a misunderstanding in a travel agency which led me to a one-way flight ticket to the Azores Islands. One of the best vacations I ever had!
2. in a case of an emergency one couchsurfer once offered me to stay at his apartment while he was out of town - without even knowing me...!
Teach, Learn, Share
The last thing I learned from CS is to read a Chinese oracle.
I would have never thought that I would involve mself in anything like that, but yes - I can give you a reading.
